The
Nuclear Harvest Story
How it all happened
Johnny B, also known as Johnny Badly of Nuclear
Harvest, was born in 1960. He began Nuclear Harvest as a
solo recording project in the late 1970s, while also playing drums or bass in various bands as needed. He also worked as a studio drummer in New York City. From 2000 to 2012, he played bass and studio drums with a live band under the Nuclear Harvest name. However, he returned to being a solo artist and continued recording under the Nuclear Harvest name. In 2018, he started recording and releasing albums for his solo project. While he mainly focuses on original-sounding music on the heavier side, he appreciates and draws inspiration from various music genres and styles.
The Nuclear Harvest concept revolves around the Cold War Cuban Missile Crisis and the destructive consequences of human folly. It serves as a reminder of the dangers of pursuing nuclear war potentials and the resulting devastation of our world. The concept also explores the need for greater awareness and responsibility in how we live our lives, treat our environment, interact with other creatures, and relate to one another. Additionally, it incorporates personal experiences and observations about existence in general. Although the message may seem dark, it is not entirely negative. Ultimately, Johnny B hopes that his music is both enjoyable to listen to and serves as a warning signal for the future.
